An inquest will happen

The coroner has written to Josh’s mum, Ursula to advise that the investigation into Josh’s suicide will go to inquest.

Through an inquest, the coroner can identify the flaws in Queensland’s public mental health care and make recommendations for changes that can help prevent suicides.

Suicide is preventable. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confidently declared it (see its latest suicide prevention publication). And there are programs internationally that have made, and are making, big differences that are saving lives.

We hope that through this inquest, Queensland will become the next great achiever in suicide prevention.

Love, Peace, Help the World
